Let It Go And Move On

Aug 2, 2026    Dr. Lorraine Brown

What does it truly mean to let go and step into something new? This message takes us deep into the opening chapter of Joshua, where an entire nation stands at the edge of the promised land, grieving the loss of their greatest leader, Moses, and wondering how they could possibly move forward without him. The spiritual lesson here is both timeless and urgent: God does not call us to mourn what was forever. He calls us to rise, to be strong and courageous, and to trust that the same God who carried others before us is the very same God walking with us now. We are reminded that the people and seasons we depend on are not the source of our strength. They are vessels, just as we are. When those seasons end, God is not finished. He is simply shifting us into the next chapter He has already written for us. The message challenges us to examine the places in our own lives where we have been standing still, holding on to the familiar because the next step feels too uncertain, too lonely, or too big. The word God gave Joshua is the same word being extended to us today: I will not fail you or abandon you.
